Backstory: The Artist’s Process offers a glimpse into the mind of the artist by presenting documentation, reference materials, sketches, etc. alongside the finished work.
 



WORKSHOPS AT ANTIOCH FINE ARTS FOUNDATION

Mixed Media Design Workshop – Friday August 11, 2023 – 5:30 to 8:30 pm

Artist and instructor Karen Sako invites you on an intuitive journey to try new things, keep an open mind and have some FUN as you explore abstract concepts and create a dynamic contemporary mixed media painting.

Beginners and experienced artists alike will enjoy the experience of experimenting with new ideas and tools to invent spontaneous abstract designs.  An emphasis will be placed on design fundamentals, observation, color and simplifying shapes.

Are you ready to break out of predictability?  If you are never caught off guard, then some beautiful experiences never happen!

Cost is $60 per student.

Youth Art – Abstract Mixed Media Design – ages 11 to 14 – Friday August 25th 6:00 to 8:00 pm

Artist Karen Sako will guide students through the exciting process of combining a variety of art mediums with a heavy emphasis on basic design fundamentals.

Young artists will express their own personal style by shadowing multiple layers to create depth and dimension.  This project will include altered papers, magazine/newspaper clippings, acrylic paint, charcoal, pastel, India ink, portions of other artwork or text and assorted found objects glued to a substrate.

Cost of $45 per person includes all supplies.
