The painting you see me working on above was created during my photo shoot with the amazing Tobin Fraley of Woodland Grove Photography. I worked from a casein study in my sketchbook and made good use of that time.

Other images in the article are credited to the one and only Liz Shrenk of Something Blue Photography.

This painting is now on exhibit at The Antioch Arts Foundation in Antioch, IL in their 2nd annual Large Works Invitational.

The Antioch Art Gallery and Education Center is located at 952 Main Street in beautiful downtown Antioch.  We are open and staffed by volunteers on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, as well as during special community events.

Its great to be back in the schools leading creative teens on a journery of mixed media collage. My goal in these short workshops is to show the importance of design principles and how they relate to their own work in a fun and engaging way.

I am so excited to be judging this art competition after doing the High School competition earlier this year. It's a great way to inspire and motivate these young artists to love art!

2023 Prairie Plein Air Competition
Submitted works will be exhibited and for sale in the Herb Aigner Gallery inside the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts May 16 - June 25, and will coincide with the 34th annual Prairie Arts Festival, which will be held Memorial Day weekend (Saturday and Sunday May 27-28) on the grounds of the Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center.

I will be out and about painting Schaumburg so try to find me if you're in the area.
I will be posting where I am painting on social media daily. There will be a chance to win one of my paintings if you can spot me!
